Very helpful/accommodating staff!
Ive never written a review where ive had 2 complately different views of the same place.....We stayed at the highland club for new year. We booked with another family and each booked one of the studios. On arrival, we were unfortunately very disappointed to see how tiny the studios are. I realise the term studio indicated it would be a 1 room accommodation but we hadn't appreciated how small and didn't see the small print that both beds are pull out beds! We had the worst nights sleep I've had in years and up most of the night due to thin, lumpy mattresses. We had been planning to have a family hogmanay celebrations with our friends and woke up an new years eve feeling truly depressed at the thought of another 2 nights in there! We spoke to reception and the manager the next day however, and I have to admit that they were so helpful and understanding and despite being new years eve, were able to arrange a solution within about 30min! Due to this excellent customer service, our whole stay changed from being bleak at the thought of us all being cramped into a tiny room and not getting any sleep and honestly just feeling miserable about the whole situation, into a fantastic, fun and very comfortable, relaxing family getaway! The accommodation could definitely do with some modernisation, it's like walking back into the 70s! But it's clean, well equipped and comfortable.... unless your in the studios. My advice would be that they should be advertised as accommodating 2 people and add an actual bed in those. The views are simply stunning of course and the glassed in balcony gives the perfect viewing! I think we would return but it would be nice to see some sprucing up of the decor to keep up with other similar accommodation around scotland and the Highlands. Very grateful to the staff and management for all their help. The local village is lovely and friendly locals.
